Dr. Jen Phelps received her Ph.D. and M.S in Chemical Engineering and her M.Phil. in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University, as well as a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She has always enjoyed engaging students’ interests in STEM fields, whether it be in academia by helping with homework and classwork, or via applied means through home-built hover crafts and chemistry demonstrations. Over the years, she has also worked as a distillery engineer, a technical manuscript editor, a high school and middle school softball and volleyball coach, and a softball umpire. In her spare time, you will mostly likely either find her on a softball field or utilizing her science knowledge on in-home cooking and fermentation studies.
